When a loved one is in the hospital, it is stressful for everyone. Flowers, stuffed animals, snacks, and other gifts – meaningful gestures of compassion and care – will alleviate stress and reassure the recipient that they are in good hands.

When you purchase gifts from the gift shop, all the money is collected and put back into the hospital’s funding pool. So even as you are supporting your friend or family member in their time of need, you are supporting your community as well.

The gift shop is located on the second floor of the hospital, near Tim Horton’s.

  • Annual Giving Coordinator

    Job Status: Full time 38.75 Hours per Week

     

    The Annual Giving Coordinator reporting to the Executive Director, will provide leadership in the planning, coordination, and evaluation of Medicine Hat & District Health Foundation’s fundraising events and annual fundraising activities.

     

    Major Responsibilities

    Specific Duties

    ANNUAL GIVING PROGRAM

    • Direct Mail
      • Responsible for planning and strategizing our quarterly direct mail appeals
      • Developing database donor segments
      • Creating timelines with budgets
      • Work with the Foundation team to develop the topic of the appeal letters
      • Maintain and grow the direct mail program
      • Report on outcomes both financially and donor reports
      • Develop and strengthen an email appeal program

     

    • 50/50
      • Responsible for maintaining our AGLC license
      • Developing and maintaining an online 50/50
      • Report on outcomes

     

    • Grateful Patient Program
      • Responsible for planning and strategizing of our grateful patient program
      • Working with the marketing team to keep materials fresh and up to date
      • Working with AHS staff to maintain awareness and engagement
      • Report on outcomes

     

    •  Monthly Giving Program
      • Responsible for planning and strategizing of our monthly giving program
      • Working with the marketing team to keep materials fresh and up to date
      • Report on outcomes

     

    EVENT COORDINATION

    • Oversee the successful planning and execution of signature events and donor engagement events;
    • Work with Foundation leadership and event volunteers, where applicable, to set a vision and plan for events;
    • Acts as a point of contact with external event representatives, corporate sponsorships liaisons, and internal and external stakeholders;
    • Prepare detailed event logistics plan, production plan, and event itinerary for each event; including event evaluation and overall event strategy;
      • Budget
      • Gaming applications and final reports
      • Managing committees
      • Plan, manage and implement communications and promotions of events with the support of the marketing team
      • Provide final event reports with financial results
      • Supporting Volunteers
      • Supporting Community Event Organizers
    • Seek to improve donor/sponsor relationships, cultivation and stewardship through regular and appropriate communications.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive operational plan and budget for the Foundation and evaluate donor engagement and event priorities to ensure success.

     

    • Develop and manage budget and day-to-day operations supporting stewardship and event planning functions including regular gaming activities.

    • Pull Tickets
    • Annual Signature Event
    • Walk to Remember
    • Community Events

     

    Daily or frequent tasks include:

    • Balancing pull tickets
    • Balancing 50/50 by cross referencing payroll reports with office reports
    • Submitting by-weekly reports to payroll
    • Ensure winners receive their funds in a timely manner

     

    Fundraising/ Administrative

    • 50/50 Jackpot organization, Bookkeeping
    • Pull Ticket Organization, Bookkeeping
    • Casino Organization, Bookkeeping
    • All gaming applications, and reporting
    • Event budgets
    • Final reports on all events

     

    MAJORT GIFT / SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

    • Play an active role in building the strategy for securing cash and in-kind support for annual signature and donor events.
    • Manage and build relationships with prospective partners and existing donors.
    • Develop cultivation strategies for prospects, engage staff, Board, or other organizational supporters as appropriate.
    • Leading and sometimes supporting in donor/partner cultivation and solicitation activities such as donor development, including by phone, email, mail or events.
    • Maintain a recognition/stewardship program for sponsorship partners and donors.

     

    ADMINISTRATION

    • Responsible for maintaining accurate and up to date records of donors, sponsors and prospects in the database.
    • Responsible for being able to create and run filters in the database for the purpose of event invitations, direct mail and other inquiries.
    • Use Constant Contact when communicating with large groups.
    • Use the database independently.
    • Maintain accurate event records.
    • Support the promotion of events and recognition of donors on Social Media platforms.
