Giving Hope

It's Time to Talk About Mental Health

The conversation is growing, and we’re seeing the stakes more clearly than ever. It’s time to break the stigma and address an integral part of overall health and wellness.
Think about the difficulties and struggles you may face in your daily life. Now imagine trying to carry those burdens alone, without relief, or without feeling any hope for improvement in the future. For many in our community, that is a real experience…but it doesn’t have to be.

We’ve always asked the people of Medicine Hat to dream big, and envision a better future – and that’s because we do, too. To achieve those dreams, our goal is to raise $500,000 for the Addictions and Mental Health Inpatient Unit at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, outpatient support programs, and the Medicine Hat Recovery Center.

Funds Raised

Funds will be used for the following areas:

  • Beds, furniture, and a large-scale upgrade to the facility’s design for the adult inpatient unit at the hospital.
  • Mattresses, beds, and incorporating a walking path and meditation space for people in treatment for mental health conditions at the Medicine Hat Recovery Center
  • Creating a designated mental health area for our youth in the hospital environment, allowing children in crisis to have a comfortable space.
  • Assisting with ongoing exercise equipment and program support needs for the mental health outreach departments.
